KH: Example for 'I Can't'

People keep asking what "I Can't" means. I chose these themes because well when I hear them I get so many ideas for pictures and stories. 'I Can't' is one of my faves because it has this crazy underlying angsty tone XDDD <333

Rku: Sora.......Do you want this slice of bread??
Sora: Riku.....I'm sorry *looks to the side* ...I can't.....
Riku: Eh?? But it's just bread
Sora: *bursts into tears*

So I made this pic and put a lil drabble to it. Very simple use but you can do a lot with it.


I Can't

Axel was looking around the audience, in between songs, when he noticed it. A teenager was slumped over the barrier. He waved one of the concert staff over indicating they should help the boy. He grimaced slightly when he saw the rough manner with which they pulled him over the barrier. Out of the corner of his eye he could see them carrying him backstage. He tried to push it from his mind as he began the next song.

Once the concert was over he exited the stage, waving to his fans. The screams were deafening, yelling for an encore. He found himself looking around for the boy from earlier and frowned when he saw the kid lying on a bench. He let out an irritated puff of breath. Obviously looking after an injured person required extra pay.

He sat on the edge of the bench and gazed down at the boy. His cheeks were rosy on his too pale face, hints of a fever. Axel’s frown only deepened when he saw the way the boy’s blonde hair clung to his sweaty brow.
“Oi, Kid…..wake up.” He gently shook the boy’s shoulder hoping to rouse him. After a few more shakes the boy moved. He didn’t open his eyes straight away. He groaned softly and pulled his legs up in a sort of stretch and narrowly missed hitting Axel in the face, when he raised a hand to scrub at his eyes.

For a second Axel thought he might have gone back to sleep because he stopped moving. He leaned over him examining the boys face.
“Hey Kid, wake up already!” Eye’s fluttered open, regarding him in a drowsy confusion. Finally recognition dawned on him and his eyes widened. He made a move to get up but the thunderous pounding in his ears reminded him very quickly why he was lying down.
“Augh….” He moaned and squeezed his eyes shut. He rested the back of his hand on one of his eyes trying to alleviate the terrible pressure building.

“What’s the matter?” the red-head asked genuinely concerned.
“I have….a headache” The boy said slowly, his voice wavering just a little.
“Can you get up?” The boy pushed himself up onto his elbows but the strain was visible on his face. He bit down on his lip stifling the groan that tried to escape, before lowering himself back down and raising his hand to his eye once more.
“I can’t….” He sighed.
“That’s okay” Axel said gently. “ Put your hand around my shoulder and I’ll carry you to my dressing room and get you something for the pain. Okay Kiddo?”
“Roxas”
“Huh?”
“My name is Roxas” The blonde murmured reaching a hand up and tentatively placing it on the red-head’s shoulder.
“Duuuh, sorry, I should’ve realised that.” Axel snorted at his slowness. He raised the boy slightly sliding a hand under his back and his other behind the boy’s knees. “Up we go Roxas.” He said as a warning and lifted him.

“I knew I wasn’t feeling well” Roxas admitted, trying to fill the silence that had descended on them. “But I couldn’t miss your concert….I’m a big fan…” He flushed as he said it and Axel smiled warmly at him.
“Now that, is dedication”

It's just a quick example to show you guys. Be a bit more creative with the themes. There's prizes for creativity too.
.....I made the prizes bigger too so there's lots of fun to be had. The new prize list is in my most recent journal.

Hopefully this will encourage you all to be imaginative! I don't mean that you have to mix writing and art, this is just my take on one of the themes.
